My work is about being a person in the world... ...
The uncertainty. Human Evolution. Visceral & Universal. Abstract & Temporal. The energies of Life, and its "unforeseen complexity"... ... Everyone is dependent, but we just take it for granted. My sculptures, the people, they have a kind of self-conscious dependence on different things that keep them in different conditions. Frozen sculpture that has to be kept frozen, wax sculpture that need to be not crushed, not heated up too much. So everything has a kind of delicacy. Sculpture and its material is something that you have to experience it with your body. You have to be there to see it, feel it, experience it. -- MQ |
