SHIT HEAD v.s. BLOOD HEAD
Shit Head, 1997
Shit Head , as the name suggests, is made from my own excrement. This soft material from within is dried and transformed into a hard odourless outer appearance. From here, I went on to make paintings using the same material, the Shit Paintings. The paintings are more about being a prisoner of one's own body. They are also about two things: a dark reference to the dirty protest and the classic prisoner's rebellion ; a protest against being incarnate, imprisoned by the routine of bodily need.
